Australian Migration

The people arriving at our shores by boat can no longer be considered Refugees or Asylum Seekers if they have arrived at other countries before moving on to Australia. To bypass the countries they have traveled threw which are more likely to have their first language and similar cultural values. Then to further exit other countries that predominantly have the same religious and social identities. Only to arrive in Australia where only small conclaves of their ethnic groups exist and where it has an overwhelmingly a different ethical, political, and spiritual belief system must take tremendous drive. They must have other agendas such as economic or to be with relatives that are already here. I don't for a second think any could be from terrorist ideals sent here as we are just not that important in the world scheme of things.

It is generally considered against the Australian ethic of a fair go to cue jump which is just what is happening when we give them any consideration. These boat people in the security of the first country they escape to or even the second can apply with all the other refugees and asylum seekers that we Australians take in every year. When they arrive we should not process them as refugees but send them directly back to the first port of call after leaving their countries of origin as that is where they ceased being refugees and became economic opportunists.

Australia is a rich and large land but ecologically we are at the limit of our population especially in regards to water security. We need to take pause to our migrant intake until we have resolved a few of these problems. Now i am not saying to cut intake but to maintain the same levels we would apply to climate controls for our Nation.
Many would argue we need the migrant intake to bring in skilled labour but is this the same skilled labour that is being laided off in ever sector of our economy. Which will end up competing with the unskilled arrivals for any job. The other point i would make about migrants is that should they be over 40 years of age then we only get half their productive life before they become part of our ageing population burdening our children and grandchildren with high debt levels to repay.

If we could only use a similar network of information about Australia to get tourist to come here.

The biggest thing in Carbon emmision reduction

The down turn in the world economy is the biggest factor at present to reducing green house gases with OPEC member nations cutting oil production by 4.2 million barrels a day. To keep these savings and generate jobs the world needs to replace this energy with renewable's before there is an upturn in the world situation.

Peter Costello

This man was the shadow treasurer for 3 years and the treasurer for 12 years . He has remained on as a loyal liberal back bencher working for his electorate. Not shirking his responsibility to represent his electorate simple because the party lost costing the taxpayer for a byelection. The brilliance of a man that steered us clear of the Asian economic crisis and Sars affects on asia pacific economies is without doubt testimony to his abilities. He brought in surplus budgets and reduced a 90 billion dollar debt which hung over Australia from the previous big splurging Labour governments, that gave us the recession we had to have which was nothing but rubbish with an unproven fantasy j curve concept from Keating. Which with a better manager of our economy like Peter could have been avoided. The situation of the party not backing Peter against Howard for inter generational change is what caused them to lose the election .

The self interest of the Nelsons and Turnbulls seeing their chance to lead if the Howard Costello partnership failed took an bet each way . This has come back to haunt both of them with Peter returning the favour of not opposing the but not really backing them as they did him. It was quite obvious they all wanted Howard to go long before the election but used it to their advantage . Well i feel after 15 years doing so much for this nation without the full support of the liberal party. Peter is now well within his rights to take it easy, reflect and make those that did not really support him squirm in their elected seats. To bide his time until he has formulated a fully balanced strategy to put to the Australian people that will get us out of this mess .

I don't agree with all Peter's views especially on work choices laws. Then i don't agree with the big spending policies of the labour party , i mean any idiot can spend money but what we really need is a government that can incentivise us, superannuation funds and business to spend our own money in productive enterprises that will reduce our foreign debt.

One thing that could be done is to change negative gearing laws to only apply to new constructions and new assets for a period of 10 years similar to what Keating foolishly introduced across the board but with interest rates at 17%. That was like a final nail in the economies coffin but with interest rates this low it could transfer investment into new employment creating homes and business's.

Perth Western Australia is the place to be

Now we are no longer talking about infrastructure bottlenecks but how Perth never delivers the grandiose dreams of Politicians and local shock jocks. Well most of us just want it to grow organically without the ques and congestion. Perth is a beautiful city and does not need the razzmatazz of the other rat races cities and towns around Australia, for that matter the world. If our beaches, parks, and entertainment venues including our great cafes are not good enough for you .Then i am sure you are not a local born and breed so please return to your favored city leaving us to enjoy our dullsville. To the tourists i say this is really the town to unwind in, and find out what true quality of life is.

Fire the CEO's First

At the moment the CEO's of many multinational companies are announcing redundancies for huge numbers of workers to appease the shareholders to maintain dividends. Well if there is only a marginal reduction in productions the CEO's should be fired too with no package as well, as they are the ones that let the business become bloated and inefficient. A telecommunications company i no longer use sacked 10 managers in one department i know of, only to have to hire 9 of them back once they had become private consultants at a much greater fee. Every time the CEO's stuff up their answer is to announce job cuts which just adds to the lack of confidence and generally is just a ploy to disguise the fact they have not been doing a good job. Most of the lay offs end up being disgruntled employees of the poor management and retirees that were going anyway. These are the same management that piled on the highly leveraged huge debt burdens in the name of expansion ,instead of natural organic growth. It is not rocket science but just lemming mentality.

Reserve Bank Government CRETONS

I can't believe the reserve bank and governments in Australia that every time we get a head of steam in the old terms they try to put the brakes on with increased interest rates and the recessions we have to have all in the name of curbing inflation. Then when they have derailed the small business sector like a Titanic iceberg they start to throw everything overboard like it will help us float after we have already drowned. They are the reserve bank they must have had some history of cycles if they wanted to slow inflation they should have tightened money supply or credit availability. Now there is no confidence in the economies of the world they themselves panic with lower interest rates. Again they would be better off tightening irresponsible credit to those that don't need it. Small business needs the liquidity and confidence to borrow.
There are enough other baggage like red tape, government bureaucracies, competition from huge corporations to slow small business which is the real engine and employer of our nation. The taxes most of us pay come out of the profitability of these overburdened entrepreneurs.I mean government employees don't really pay tax as they don't produce anything that can be sold. Large corporations don't pay much tax as they are not as efficient and have foreign owners that charge huge fees from tax haven parent companies to avoid paying tax here. Employees of small business are not really paying the tax it is the business that pays it out of its turnover , if the operator do not produce the dollars you don't get to pay the tax. If that business goes broke no more taxes are collected and the employees become a drain on society.

Credit Leverage got us into the Mess

Credit Leverage got us into the Mess and governments will have to use the same principal with the money it doles out to corporations and the public in general. They will need to have the private sector and public match several dollars for ever dollar of government subsidy. I mean to get the money flowing again which is what this crisis is, just us not spending "in case we need it for a really rainy day". The money flow is what creates prosperity otherwise you can just think of all currencies as monopoly money, it has no value if it is tied up doing nothing . If it is locked up not flowing it decreases the value of everything that's deflation. The problem is we wait for the other guy to start spending ,not realising we are the other guy. The thing is if the government sends you some money don't use it to reduce bills, debt or waste it on beer but think what you could spend it on in your local community that will stay in your community.Maybe you need to get your roof fixed or a solar water heater or something else that will save you money in the long run. Also think of the fuel miles a product has to use to get to you .
